What is a Vietnam business visa?
A Vietnam business visa (symbol DN) lets a foreigner enter Vietnam for commercial activity — meetings, partner and factory visits, service promotion, or work with a Vietnamese company — rather than tourism. Since the 2019 immigration amendments it is split into two types, and the right one depends on who invites you and why.
DN1
Issued to foreigners working with Vietnamese enterprises and organizations that have legal status under Vietnamese law.
DN2
Issued to foreigners entering to offer services, establish a commercial presence, or carry out activities under international treaties Vietnam is party to.
A business visa can be granted for up to 12 months, with single or multiple entry, but the duration actually issued depends on your sponsor, purpose, and the immigration authority's decision.

Vietnam's immigration law uses visa symbols to classify entry purpose. The original law listed `DN` for people coming to work with Vietnam-based enterprises and `DL` for tourists. Amendments introduced DN1 and DN2 categories for business activities involving Vietnamese legal entities or commercial presence/service promotion.
Visa purpose and documents should match the actual activity. If your activity is employment, investment, or long-term work, a business-visit route may not be enough.
